This place has had a recent change of management. May have the best diner food in Estes Park. The food is always good and sometimes just right! I had a Western Omelet that was terrific. I specified some changes and it was done exactly the way I asked. Delicious! This town is very food challenged. A find like this is very welcome. The staff is friendly and competent. I'll be back.

Decent food, kind of small place. Seemed quaint, and homely. Like a typical small town cafe. We had the Ranchers Burrito and Western Omelette. Both were good, but not exceptional. If you are passing by and feel like a small cafe atmosphere, this place would suffice.

I am a true Mountaineer believer. I started going summer of 2007 when it was in a different location than it is now; I loved it then, and I still love it in its new digs. In a town that has to accommodate roughly a gazillion rude, annoying tourists, this place is a reprieve from the constant aggravation of Elkhorn Drive (the main tourist drag in town). Don't get me wrong, the service is hit-or-miss, but I truly enjoy this laid-back breakfast joint, as much for its interesting staff and local eaters as much as the food. Speaking of which, the breakfast burritos are sensationally huge, and especially sinful if you get them smothered with sausage gravy (post hike, of course...), and the homemade cinnamon toast is a must. Stick to the good, reliable breakfast dishes that greasy spoon diners like this shine at. You can't go wrong with bacon, eggs, and hashbrowns, and cinnamon toast of course. You can't get breakfast cheaper anywhere else in town.

My mother and I had breakfast here this morning. We arrived around 10:30 and were promptly seated. Breakfast was basic but OK. I was disappointed in the breakfast sausage - it was reheated preformed patties. The toast was well done. Our waiter was a bit rushed and not very friendly. The check for the two of is was 18.00. Would I go there again? No - I'll probably head down the road to check out the next place.

This great place to eat. The food is always good and the service is too. I've never left disappointed. One of a few Estes restaurants I've returned to. Nothing fancy. Just good food.

A real value. Good food at a reasonable price. Our food came out a little slow but there was a large party in the back so it was understandable. The staff were very friendly and apologetic for our wait. I can only speak for lunch but we would definitely return. As an update, we stopped for breakfast on our way out of town. Not disappointed. Just as good of food as we had at our lunch and the price was very reasonable. And, even better, this time the service was very fast.

My new favorite breakfast spot in Estes! We were in Estes Park for four days and had breakfast here 3 out of the 4 days, I regret not going everyday. A diverse menu that made it easy to come back. Great Mexican offerings and the more traditional items were spot on. Their to-go breakfast burritos were great too. I love there green chili. I will make it a point to stop in whenever we're up in Estes.

Awesome breakfast spot. Small but with a beautiful view. Bothered a bit by the flies but delicious food. Breakfast burrito, skillets and eggs Benedict- delish!!! Recommend

Yum yum yum! This place has a cute cozy feel! The waiter was extremely nice, helpful, and attentive. I ordered corned beef hash because I was having a bad day, (and because it reminds me of my father since it's his favorite dish) and i can say that my day has gotten a lot better since walking into this yummy restaurant. If you want to dodge the more popular breakfast restaurants in the town area, this is your place. Makes their eggs perfectly, (a tad on the greasy side for health nuts) but I don't mind it every once in a while. Especially since we've been climbing in Rocky Mountain National Park for the past 4 days. Nothing like yummy corned beef hash. Will definitely come back!!

A family of 6 enjoyed every meal of their choice! Pancakes were cooked perfectly! Chicken fried steak did not disappoint! Meatloaf sandwich was great, while the gravy and biscuits plate was wiped clean. French Toast was also tasty!

This place's breakfast would give some of the better diners back in Jersey a run for their money. Everyone is super friendly, the place is extremely clean, and the food was excellent and quickly prepared. If you're in the area and looking for an amazing, quick and well priced breakfast, I highly recommend Mountain Strong.

Solid food. The whole family left happy and full.

We went there for breakfast on Monday morning. There weren't a lot of people, the waiter was extremely nice and the eggs Benedict, California style were amazing. They're flexible and will work with you to make your meal vegetarian if you want. Highly recommend that place for breakfast.

First time visiting. Good for a local place. Service a bit slow but the breakfast food was good. The wife had french toast, bacon and eggs and I had the Mountain skillet. Bacon was very good and the eggs tasted like eggs. The skillet was a large portion and very good.

Great service and no lines! The fam enjoyed the breakfast burritos, the tamale and the country omelet and we were not disappointed.

I gave this place five stars cause a good breakfast place in Estes is very hard to find and this place is really good!!! Not mind blowing but good with great service super fast and clean. I will for sure be back

I'm from Texas. I visited Estes Park for a few days and tried this place out and it was very tasty with a good view.

Took my wife and kids for breakfast. Had significant issues with flies inside. Hollandaise sauce wasn't homemade and hash browns were dry. Kids liked the French Toast though, and service was friendly, so they get a couple stars.

This place was the find on our recent trip to Estes Park. Not overcrowded on a weekend and just right as we were seated quickly. Service was good and the food was also very good. Some things are a little pricey for a café type place but this is Estes Park. My wife's meal was definitely the best(crispy chile relleno's with hash browns and eggs). I had French toast with eggs and sausage which was good but hers was the bomb for sure. Definitely recommend this place and the nice atmosphere inside to go with the food.

Worth the stop! Big portions of delicious food. Good place to take the kids. Nice selection of items to choose from.

Best breakfast in Estes Park. Casual diner food. Nice views. Recently changed hands but menu seems the same.

Excellent breakfast (lots of omelets, eggs Benedict varieties, and Mexican-fusion options--including delicious tamales and eggs!!), good service, reasonable tourist town prices. Looks like this may have been previously known as the Mountaineer.

Came here for breakfast upon a recommendation from others who had been here before. Cute little place, very friendly wait staff and the food was delicious. It was the Sunday morning of the yearly Long's Peak Scottish Festival, and we were fortunate to beat the rush. There was a mix of tourists and locals, and of course the presence of locals is always a good sign. Prices were good and portion size was generous. We will be making this a go to place for our Estes Park visits in the future.

Horrible food, the service was worse than the food. Avoid this place.

Breakfast should be good, quick, homestyle, and affordable The Mountaineer gets all these. Seated as soon as we walked in, super friendly, bright and clean( thou they need to work on the floor but I dont plan on eating on the floor so ehh) I wanted the German sausage and eggs but they were out of the Ger sausage, it was late morning and it was a toss up as to what I wanted so I right away knew my 2nd choice. We both had the special on Sundays which is chicken fried steak and eggs. Not the best as I make the best ;) but was still yummy and filling. We both walked out stuffed and satisfied. We both like over medium which a lot of place for some reason have trouble achieving but our eggs were perfect. We knew right when we walked in that it was gonna be more of a place where locals eat. We like that vibe. We live an hour away and go to Estes a lot this may be where we always go for breakfast in the future.

Awful, awful, awful!!! Came here based on yelp reviews, what a mistake. Flies landed in our coffee and that should have been our clue to leave. They forgot to put our order in. After a half hour of waiting the staff realized they forgot it and finally put it in. Came out barely done; as in crunchy green peppers in my skillet. Halfway through our mediocre meal a fly landed directly onto my husbands plate. That was the end, we gave up. Not a dollar was comped on our bill, nor was an apology made. Save yourself the irritation and avoid this place.
